Sisters That Lock believes in providing excellent services for you, by ensuring you are educated about your hair and its care. In order to provide exceptional customer service and ensure that your appointment with Sisters That Lock is enjoyable, please adhere to the policies below.
Sisters that Lock reserves the right to update or modify this policy agreement including pricing structure and fees at any time.
RETAINER FEE
All services are by appointment only and confirmed with a non-refundable/non-transferable retainer fee. Retainer fees are for loc establishments, transfer & existing clients. This fee will be deducted from the total cost of services and the balance is due at the time of the appointment.
Microlocks & Interlocks establishments require a retainer fee of $160 to schedule your locking session and is due at the end of your consultation. Tag team establishment retainer fee is $415. Retightening retainer fees are $21 for existing clients.
Your appointment WILL NOT be confirmed or scheduled unless your retainer fee has been paid at your consultation. Cancellations and rescheduling policy apply.
CONSULTATIONS
Consultations are a great opportunity to learn about our services, get questions answered about specific styles, and learn more about the locking process.
Consultations are required before booking any locking sessions. The consultation fee for hair services is $50 and is non-refundable/non-transferrable.
To prepare your hair for consultation, please come with freshly washed hair (within 24 hours) that is completely dry. Allow hair to air dry. We need to observe your natural curl pattern (this is VERY crucial for your hair journey). If your hair is not prepped as requested, your consultation will be cancelled, and you will be responsible for rescheduling a new consultation and will have forfeited the fee for your consultation.
For transfer Microlocks, Interlocks, or Sisterlocks™ clients, a transfer consultation is required before scheduling an appointment for a retightening.
For Sisters That Lock clients, a consultation is required if it has been over 12 weeks since your last retightening. This is to quote accurately for pricing.
CANCELLATIONS & RESCHEDULING
A minimum of 24-hour notice is required for all cancellations, modifications, and/or rescheduling*. For cancellations with 24-hours (or greater) notice, a rescheduled appointment can be requested for the same service on a different day and or time. For cancellations with less than 24 hours, client must pay 50% of service cost. Same day/no show cancellations will be charged another retainer fee, which is non-refundable and full payment is required before rescheduling.
*Rescheduling: Requests for a different service, even on the same day and or time, will be handled as cancellation and retainer fee will not be refunded or transferred.
TRANSFER CLIENTS
For retightening purposes, Sisters That Lock defines transfer clients as a customer that has not had their locs installed by Sisters That Lock or as a client that has not received retightening services from us within 3 or more months.
Transfer clients are required to pay a non-refundable retainer fee for their services before your appointment is accepted.
Please keep in mind that while we accept transfer clients, if you have loc extensions you will not be accepted.
TRAVEL FEES
Travel fees will be added to price of your requested services unless noted otherwise*. Unfortunately, these fees are non-negotiable and are to be paid in advance each time we come to service you. Travel fees ARE refundable, if services are canceled within 24 hours before your appointment. Travel fees are non-refundable for same day cancellations.
*Travel fees are required for ALL clients outside of our service area.
SISTERLOCKS™
The total price for Sisterlocks™ establishments vary in price and is based on the client's hair length, density, surface area of the head and the overall condition of the hair. At Sisters That Lock, the base rate starts at $725 ($50 Consultation Fee included). However, the final price is discussed only at the consultation. There is a two-week minimum wait period to complete before your install.
Please Note: Rates can change, however, the quoted price given at the end of your consultation is valid for 30 days. After 30 days, a new consultation is required to reevaluate the hair.
The Follow Up Visit must be scheduled three or four weeks after your establishment. If it is scheduled 5 weeks or more after your establishment, it will be considered a regular retightening and regular pricing will apply. For all appointments, it is required that all clients shampoo their hair within 24 hours of their appointment.
Sisterlocks™ establishments require a $210 retainer fee to schedule your establishment and is due at the end of your consultation.
PAYMENT
We accept cash, CashApp, Apple Pay and all major credit cards and debit cards (there is a processing fee to use this form of payment).
AfterPay is available (you have to qualify and there is also a processing fee to use this form of payment.) If you are using After Pay to pay for services, this must be completed 2 days prior to your appointment, this is to ensure you have been approved prior, if this is not completed your appointment will be canceled.
COVID-19 PROCEDURES
If you are experiencing cold, flu-like and/or COVID-19 symptoms, please reschedule your appointment. If you have been in contact with or live in a household with people who are exhibiting general cold, flu-like symptoms, and/or COVID-19 symptoms, please reschedule. A mask is recommended in some instances.
PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOGRAPHY CONSENT
We take images and videos of our work to share with other clients online or keep for our records. We assume consent to photograph you upon confirmation of your appointment. However, if for any reason you do not want to be photographed please notify us when you make your appointment, or upon arrival for your appointment so we can accommodate your request.
